Barnet Carers Centre opened its doors on 29th January 1996, and is very proud to be celebrating our twentieth anniversary this year! A lot has changed since then; one thing that hasn’t changed is our passion to provide quality services for carers living in the borough of Barnet.
To provide this quality service we have a dedicated team of volunteers. Volunteering is at the heart of Barnet Carers Centre and we value the time given by all our volunteers in helping us to achieve our mission to support people caring for family and/or friends. Volunteers are valued not only for the support they give but because they are vital to the smooth running of Barnet Carers Centre.
Volunteering is a great way to further a cause, support an organisation and make a difference in your community. It can also be an opportunity to meet new people, share your experiences and wealth of knowledge, learn new skills, whether you are on a career break, coming up to a retirement or wanting to give something back. By volunteering at Barnet Carers Centre you will contribute by adding to a wide range of background and skills.
Here are some of the areas where we regularly recruit volunteers:
- Finance Assistant
- Therapists / Complementary Therapists
- Arts Therapists
- GP & Hospital Outreach
- After School Tutors
- Newsletter mail outs
Certificates of Recognition were presented to our volunteers at an afternoon tea organised during Volunteers’ Week.
Quote from a volunteer
“I find it extremely fulfilling and I appreciate life so much more, and how wonderful and selfless the carers are.”
